As Bought Body Chassis Stuff First Rebuild Painting On The Road Expenses Contact Home Page

Painting

This was something that I had never any intention of trying myself. If your going to spend all these years on a project and it has a crap paint job at the end, then it really defeats the purpose of all the effort you’ve made.

In my opinion the paint job has to be correct and transforms the car into not just a nice looking car but an eye catcher. The colour I picked was as close a match as I could get to my Triumph Daytona T595 which I think looks great in Yellow. The original colour of my Europa was L10 Bahama Yellow and as far as I'm concerned it's one disgusting , yes 70's colour.

I decided that the best way for me was to get the car painted on the Chassis. This way I wouldn’t have the problems with fitting the body afterwards and the appearance of stress cracks and scratches would be kept to a minimum. Of course this has a down side and no matter how hard the painters tried you still get overspray, which you just can’t get it all off. You would have to be lying under the car to see it but I know it’s their. Their will always be parts that I’m not happy with but because it’s not what I would have done, doesn’t make it wrong. Overall I'm really happy with the way it's turned out.

I would like to Thank Craig & Grant from C&G Garage Services who carried out the painting for all their help and hopefully they won’t need to touch too many scratches up that are inevitably going to appear.
